Architectural exhibition
Molyvann 100
Kep’s 1950s French colonial villas, read through gallery-booth photography and archive.
Curatorial note
Kep-sur-Mer was built as a modernist leisure town. Its villas, white and linear and turned towards the sea, stood silent for a generation. This exhibition comes back to that architecture without spectacle.
Molyvann 100 is an ode to the New Khmer Architecture of that era and to its master, the late Vann Molyvann, who would have turned 100 this year. The exhibition brings together photographs, maquettes and maps of Kep and this inside the Butterfly House, one of the remaining landmark buildings.
